Projects & Events
My “KPI” as a community architect is not how many tickets I have sold, but how many hearts I’ve touched.
Here’s a small sampling of projects and events I’ve worked on to bring my favorite communities together.
Mindfulness & Medicine
Embodied Judaism
A 14-week online course that welcomes participants across the Jewish spectrum—curious beginners, those returning with fresh eyes, and even non-Jews seeking a personally resonant relationship with Jewish spirituality.
We explore the intersections between Judaism and mindfulness, Earth-based philosophy, mysticism, creativity, and love!
Psychedelic Passage
Since August 2022, I’ve been facilitating therapeutic and ceremonial psilocybin journeys in Oregon, Colorado and New York through the Psychedelic Passage network. We are a collective of experienced plant medicine practitioners working with clients in 1-on-1 sessions to find breakthroughs in their mental health and spiritual development. It’s fun.
Higher Love Microdosing Program
Higher Love's 12-week program offered simple and understandable guidance to harnessing the therapeutic and spiritual potential of microdosing psilocybin while staying safe and informed. We do this in a supportive community-based learning environment that blends precision medicine, somatic embodiment, and mindfulness practices with our psilocybin coaching program.
Our medical team provides a bespoke microdosing protocol for each member of our community, pairing low-dose psilocybin with adaptogenic herbs, tinctures, and natural remedies that are custom tailored to support their unique mental and physical health.
Ecuador - Sacred Psilliness Retreat
A medicine retreat collaboration with the BELL Center in the jungles of Ayampe, Ecuador in April 2024. We dove into a playful, ceremony-based exploration of what it means to find sacredness in life without taking it too seriously.
Seattle - Sublime Spring Retreat
A medicine retreat I hosted with Dr. Genie Markwell during the weekend of the Spring Equinox in 2024 that combined medicine ceremony with nature-based practice and full-moon rituals.
Mexico - Next Chapter Documentary Retreat
A documentary crew came to film a 4-day psilocybin retreat I hosted with Maria Camille in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in February 2024. We guided 10 people aged 55+ through an initiatory ceremony to becoming elders and discovering how to live their ‘Next Chapter’ of life with service and love.
The documentary is called ‘The Next Chapter’ and will be released in 2026.
Utah - Deep Celebration Retreat
In July 2021, I co-hosted a joyful 5-day retreat in the mountains of Alta, Utah. Eleven people gathered together to celebrate the magic of connection through daily mindfulness, yoga, and plant medicine adventures. Surrounded by stunning nature outside, and an on-site Ayurvedic chef inside, we filled up our bellies and our hearts.
The Netherlands: Synthesis Institute retreats
In October 2019, I facilitated a couple of psilocybin retreats at Synthesis, one of the most recognized psychedelic retreat centers in the world.
These immersive 3-day retreats used a blend of ancient shamanic techniques with contemporary scientific methods to explore personal growth and spiritual development at their world-class center in Zandvoort, Netherlands.
Wellness Coach
Since January 2021, I’ve been recording guided meditations for mindfulness, sleep, resilience, and stress management on the Wellness Coach platform. These sessions and live classes have been taught to employees at Panda Express, Kimberly-Clark, Brex, and a bunch more awesome companies who are valuing their employees’ wellbeing!
Mindbloom
Mindbloom offers breakthrough mental health treatments using ketamine assisted therapy. During the pandemic, I guided clients through the process of preparing, navigating, and integrating therapeutic ketamine sessions, coaching them on the path to healing and growth.
Calm College
In 2017, I founded the Calm College program, an initiative which has introduced meditation to tens of thousands of students around the world through strategic partnerships with universities such as Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Northwestern, UPenn, MIT, and NYU.
Alongside Calm’s Head of Content, Tamara Levitt, I also helped create a new meditation series called the “College Collection” on the Calm app specifically for students.
Awaken Ann Arbor
As a student at the University of Michigan, I co-founded Awaken Ann Arbor; a student organization dedicated to helping students learn meditation and develop non-dogmatic spiritual growth.
Within one year, Awaken grew to a membership of over 700 students, with regular meetup groups, social events, guest speakers, and hundreds of students showing up to learn how to meditate.
Through a fellowship with the UM administration during my senior year, my co-founder and were paid to teach mindfulness meditation in classrooms, student government meetings, and business offices throughout Ann Arbor.
It was at this time that I received my Meditation Teacher Training through the Ananda School of Yoga & Meditation.
Community & Events
Oxytocin Boulder
Oxytocin was a pop-up tea lounge and community hub in Boulder, Colorado. My co-founders and I produced 40+ events creating a vibrant community at the intersection of tea ceremony, live music, and global culture.
Johns Hopkins Psychedelic Society
In October 2021, I founded the Johns Hopkins Psychedelic Society. I led a community of over 200 students who share a passion and curiosity for psychedelic culture, research, and policy, and got to interview some local heroes such as Bill Richards!
Mindspace
As one of the fastest growing co-working providers in the world, my team and I opened up Mindspace San Francisco; the company’s first location in the United States. Wearing the hats of real estate agent, event producer, and hospitality manager, I helped open up our SF location with the highest occupancy rate in company history.
I also initiated global affiliate programs with 14 companies, including SquareSpace, SendGrid, ZenDesk, and CorePower Yoga. These collaborations resulted in exclusive member benefits, co-branded products, and activation events that were brought to Mindspace locations on 3 continents.
The “Calm Party”
When Calm.com hit 10 million downloads, I was tapped as the head of event production for "The Calm Party." In an evening rich with catered food, artists and live musicians, we gathered hundreds of the top entrepreneurs, investors, reporters and health professionals in the Bay Area to celebrate our success.
It was everything but calm.
Eco-Market
In November 2018, I organized an Eco-Market in the heart of downtown San Francisco to celebrate sustainable success with Bay Area companies that were creating impact in food waste, environmental sustainability, and fair trade.
Over 400 people came to explore our vegan food vendors, (imperfect) produce, skin-care samples, massages (!!!), ethically sourced tea and honey, local handcrafted jewerly, and green-friendly cosmetic products.
Eastern Wisdom Meets Emerging Tech
In April 2018, I organized an evening of dialogue with His Eminence Khedrup Rinpoche (Sangchen Ogyen Tsuklag Monastery) and Mikey Siegel (Founder, Consciousness Hacking), on exploring the role of modern technology on meditation, Buddhist ideals, and conscious entrepreneurship.
We discussed questions such as:
- Are there fundamental differences between ancient and modern tools for meditation?
- Are these modern tools shortcuts, or are they improvements?
- What would technology look like if it was designed by Buddhist principles?
- As technology becomes more ubiquitous, how do we ensure universal accessibility for tools relating to mental health and well-being?
Passion Projects
Adopt a Survivor
Holocaust survivors are aging and dying. Through partnership with Temple Judea of Manhasset and legendary survivor Irving Roth, I recruited a cohort of teenagers to sit weekly with various Holocaust survivors; documenting their history and keeping their stories alive. This program continues to live on through the help of a number of Jewish federations.
Nate’s Spice Shack
College tuition is expensive. Why not get creative?
After registering "Nate's Spice Shack LLC", I began importing and selling hot sauces from all over the world on the University of Michigan campus. I sold out my original order of 500 bottles within 3 days, and became a spicy campus sensation.
Only 3 people cried at my table.
Avid for Adventure
In 2016, I co-led outdoor expeditions for children aged 6 - 12 in Colorado. Through immersive nature adventures, our team crafted lessons on survival skills, leadership, and mindfulness for the mountain youth!
Potluck Series
I transformed a 3-floor housing unit in the Haight Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco to a 15-person, 2 dog, 1 cat, living community. Our commune was home to a variety of cultural events, the most popular of which was our Potluck Series. Using themes such as "World Heritage" and "Let's Get Saucy", our events drew hundreds of people to celebrate food and music in the neighborhood where the Summer of Love began.
During the North Bay Fires in October 2017, I also organized a community-wide BBQ Charity Event, drawing attendees from across the Bay Area to support victims of the fires through a creative BBQ sauce contest.
New Orleans
In collaboration with Youth Rebuilding New Orleans and HandsOn New Orleans, I led 25 teenagers on a community service trip to New Orleans to rebuild homes that were destroyed in Hurricane Katrina.
