My name is Natanel Nuriel Macanian

But you can just call me Nate.

I’m a mindfulness meditation teacher, plant medicine guide, and builder of intentional communities.

As a wellness programming specialist, I’ve hosted interactive classes and retreats for world-class companies such as Google, Twitter, Palantir, Wix, Kraft Heinz, and the Omega Institute.

Since 2016, I’ve also created content for some groovy meditation apps, including Calm, Wellness Coach, Simple Habit, and Insight Timer.

My mission is simple: to leave a legacy of human connection. With music and movement, nature and breath as our allies, I hope you’ll join me in this sublime and ambitious journey to open our hearts, sing our songs, and dance this wild dance of life.

I’m a simple guy. Here are the 4 pillars on which my life rests:

Travel

From working as a news broadcaster in New Zealand, to studying with shamans in Hawaii, to living in a Buddhist monastery in Myanmar, my hip-hops around the world have not only given my parents major anxiety, they have made one thing abundantly clear: life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Nature

Life’s greatest lessons are learned outside. Free from the confines of boxes, our minds’ full creative, emotional, and intellectual capacities are given space to flourish. Most importantly, time in nature nourishes our sixth sense: intuition. And since you’re wondering, I prefer mountains over beaches.

Community (1).jpg

Community

The Sanskrit word “Satsang” (सत्सङ्ग) is the foundation of my community work. Literally translated as “Being in the company of truth”, Satsang refers to a sacred communal gathering, where humans come together in the collective pursuit of presence and truth. To me, true healing is what happens when we are immersed in a feeling of belonging, and community is the container where belonging is created. Engineering these spaces is my creative craft, and positive peer pressure is my mischief.

Spiritual Practice

To me, spiritual development is less about learning, and more about unlearning. When I practice meditation or breathwork, yoga or Qi Gong, sit with plant medicine or simply sip green tea, my fundamental spiritual ethos is always the same - accessing the flow of intuition through non-resistance.

May the good vibes be abundant!

With Jewish and Iranian roots, I'm a first-generation American from New York. Think a spicy concoction of Middle Eastern hospitality, East Coast hustle, and West Coast lifestyle. I delight in cooking plant-based food, booking my flights one-way, and if you couldn’t tell, my favorite color is baby blue.

I believe we all laugh in the same language. If you don’t read English and are thoroughly confused right now, perhaps you’ll enjoy a sound bite of my giggle:

I believe a plant is only as good as the nutrients from which it grows. Drawing on wisdom from Taoism, Buddhism, and Shamanistic philosophy, I stand on the shoulders of large and wise giants. Here are a few of the souls who have inspired my own.
